While we recognize the obvious competitive advantages of green building practices such as lower construction and operating costs, long term value increases, and fostering healthy environments, green building also encompasses our company’s philosophy.

GREEN LIVING TIPS
Living a more sustainable lifestyle is easier than you may think. Here are some tips:
Limit Use of Single Use Plastics
Bring your favorite coffee mug or water bottle for refills at work - it can save up to 26 pounds of waste per person each year.
By carrying a reusable spork, reusing your plastic cutlery or going for a compostable alternative, you could personally save 466 items of unnecessary plastic every year. It’s thought that we use plastic cutlery for just 3 minutes before throwing it away!
Shop with reusable grocery bags. More than 18,000 retail locations across the country have collection bins for recycling plastic bags, like Target, Walmart & Tom Thumb. Bins are typically located close to the main entrance. Click here to find a drop off location near you.
Electricity Conservation
We use 100% renewable energy at Cypress Waters, but you can help conserve electricity by turning off lights & computers at the end of the day.
Unplug unused devices or plug several into a power strip you can easily turn off when not in use.
At home, get a programmable thermostat and lower by 10 to 15 degrees for 8 hours per day - it will help you see an energy usage reduction of 5 to 15 percent per year on your bill.
Replace incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs - they use less energy and last years longer!
